Liturgical Roles for February 2012
Preparation for Sacraments of Baptism or Marriage: a preparation process is required before either of these Sacraments is celebrated. Please contact Father or Parish Secretary at least 6 months before a wedding is planned or as soon as the pregnancy is known, so that proper arrangements may be made for the spiritual preparation.
Hospitalized or Homebound -- Please contact the office when a parishioner is hospitalized or sick; we will schedule a visit and communion call as appropriate.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM:

  • RCIA - Christian Initiation of Adults. Adults interested in learning about the Catholic faith are invited to participate in this process. Classes are held at Sts. Peter & Paul in Boonville. Sessions are held on Monday evenings September through May. Contact Deacon Dave Miller (660-882-2132) for more information.
  • Pick up your copy of TAKE OUT FAITH FAMILY ON THE GO. Talking to your kids about God.
  • HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP. We are forming a High School Youth Group. All high School students are invited to join us. For more information, contact Karen Ebbesmeyer (248-1956), Adrienne Thies, or Janis Borges.

The Julia Schwartz Memorial Scholarship Fund will be awarding scholarships for the 2012-2013 school year. Applicants must be members of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Boonville, MO; St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fayette, MO, or St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Pilot Grove, MO; and committed to enrolling as a full-time student in an institution of higher education or advanced training for the term commencing in the Fall of 2012. Applicants shall ahve the equivalent of 2.5 (C-) grade average or higher for high school. 3.0 (B) grade point average or higher for psot secondary students for the preceding year, and demonstrate a financial need. Extra curricular activities will be considered.
Attention High School Seniors and College Students -- Applications due February 12, 2012. Applications are available in the parish office.
ANNUAL PANCAKE & SAUSAGE BREAKFAST, Sunday, March 4th. Please contact Beverly Markland or Bob Mahurin if you are willing to chair a committee to set up the Country Store, chair a committee to set up the raffle, or help with advertising. If you have an item to donate to the raffle, please let us know as soon as possible. We welcome donations of baked goods and craft items to sell at the Country Store. We will have sign up sheets posted in February for working the morning of the breakfast.
Retrouvaille of St. Louis -- A lifeline for Married Couples -- find help for your troubled marriage through the next Retrouvaille Program that starts February 10 through 12, 2012, with a weekend (Friday night thru Sunday) and has six follow-up sessions held over three months. Using Our Talents for Vocations is the theme of this year's Night of Vocation Awareness, (formerly the VIP, Evening With the Bishop) taking place on Friday, February 17th at the Holiday Inn Executive Center, Columbia. Join in the fun with our priests, sisters, deacons and laity as they showcase their singing and guitar playing for the glory of God. Gather your friends for great entertainment, food, games of chance and a live auction in this spirit-filled atmosphere. BENEFIT -- For Dale and Kim Wayland will be held on Sunday, February 19th from 11am to 1pm at our hall. There will be a meal, silent auction and a "live' auction to raise funds to help with the large amount of medical bills this family has incurred since Dale started dialysis in March 2010. The benefit is greatly in need of donations of desserts to serve. If you can donate a dessert or an item to either auction, please contact Serese at 660-728-9866. **A portion of the funds will be matched by Thrivent Lutheran.
ADULTS IN THE PARISH -- We have a great Adult Education opportunity in our parish. Nikki Lewis will share with us Fathers of Mercy DVD series beginning Sunday, February 5th. The series is titled "Christ Our God Truth Incarnate." Fr. George McInnis leads us through five presentations. These presentations are about 50 minutes long. We will meet in the rectory after Mass.
